Since you posed this question 8 months ago, and I'm a tad "late to the dance" in responding, I'd be interested in whether you and your reading group read or tried to read the book and what the consensus was when you finished. If you live n the "red" South, as I do, where "white rage" is still alive and well, unfortunately, and the majority of white folks I know think Trump is the second coming, I recommend you first read this book yourself and then make an informed decision as to whether you want to tackle this topic with people who may or may not remain your friends when it's over.
